MLA's Week: October 22-25, 2018

After a busy string of four days in the Legislature one week ago, the pace of contributions for North Coast MLA Jennifer Rice was little less hectic this week.

Ms. Rice, spoke twice in the Legislature Chamber this week, providing an update on the recent forest fire season and the plan ahead for recovery for MLA's, as well as to deliver a short tribute to the Filipino community in Prince Rupert.

This week also saw the debate over the upcoming referendum on electoral reform gain some momentum, with both Premier John Horgan and Andrew Wilkinson, the leader of the Liberal Opposition taking to the floor of the Legislature with their observations.

Among her talking points on the was a review of the past forest fire season and some thoughts on the impact of the Filipino community as part of the mosaic found in Prince Rupert.

Monday morning Ms. Rice delivered some follow up notes related to the province's forest fire situation of this past summer, providing some notes on the recovery plan that the province has in place for affected communities.

On Tuesday morning, the MLA"s focus was on Prince Rupert's Filipino residents and the scope of their involvement in the community.
