Student music lovers to benefit form Cheng2 Duo performance Thursday night
It's not often that Prince Rupert audiences get to take in a performance from a rising star sensation in Canada, but this Thursday the Lester Centre is welcoming one of the bright lights of the Canadian music scene in the brother/sister classical music pairing Cheng2 Duo.
Their interpretations of the classics has been recognized by CBC Music, which has listed the duo among the 30 Hot Canadian Classical musicians under the age of 30.
Bryan and Sivlie Cheng have been making music for the last fourteen years and as they head into their twenties they have already travelled the world and performed in some rather impressive venues along the way.
You can learn more about their music here, as well as from a Facebook page that keeps their fans updated on their plans through the year.
The Thursday night show will also provide an opportunity for the youth of the region to experience classical music at a high level at no cost, with the Lester Centre offering a FREE student admission, with every regular ticket that is sold for the show.
As well, schools in Prince Rupert and Port Edward have been provided with a number of Free student/adult ticket vouchers which are being distributed through draws.
Show time for the Thursday event is set for 7:30 PM
Tickets to the night of classical music can be purchased at Cooks Jewellers and at the Lester Centre of the Arts Box Office.
