Guns N' Hoses dig into the ice Friday in Butch Duffy Memorial game

It's Guns N Hoses Hockey Night in Prince Rupert this Friday night
as the annual showdown celebrates edition Number 11

Like the great rivalries of the past, your Leafs/Habs, Celtics/Knicks or Yankees/Red Sox, Prince Rupert's own battle for the brag, is set for it's annual arrival as the city's Fire and Police Departments take to the Jim Ciccone Ice Friday evening for a night of hockey, fun and fundraising.

Friday night marks the 11th edition of the annual charity hockey game between the Guns and Hoses, dedicated again, as it has in recent years to the memory of Butch Duffy,  the long time Prince Rupert Fire Fighter who passed away in 2013.

Puck drop is set for 7PM as the members of the RCMP and Fire/Rescue along with one or two add ons to the lineup look to raise funds for Everybody gets to play, a local initiative to help those with limited income take part in community sports.

The Mounties will be looking to reclaim the civic bragging rights, last year the Blazers topped the city's Red Serge by a score of 6-3.

Not that any one's counting ... well OK, somebody probably is counting ... the Fire Fighters have smoked out the Mounties with a 7-3 record so far in the decade long friendly competition.

Admission to the night of hockey and fun is by admission, with door prizes and a 50/50 draw also part of the evening's showcase of hockey at the Jim.
