Opportunity to learn more about the Special Olympics program in Prince Rupert comes in June

The British Columbia Special Olympics organization is charting a course to Prince Rupert, with a Seafest Sunday stop over planned for the Prince Rupert Middle School, offering a chance for residents of the North Coast to learn more about the program and perhaps even offer up some of their time as a volunteer.

Special Olympics officials will be in the city on June 9th with plans to host their Try-it day in the city, the event is open to people with intellectual disabilities who are interested in joining Special Olympics  or want to learn more about the program.

All ages and ability levels are welcome to try out the basketball program, learn more about health and fitness and meet some of the Special Olympics coaches.

The event takes place from 10 to 2:30PM at the Prince Rupert Middle School on June 9th.
