The MLA for the North Coast took a bit of time away from the political scene on Monday to share some pretty exciting news for her herself and her spouse Andrea, announcing to those who follow her Social media streams of the impending arrival of a child for the couple.
Those looking to pick up a baby gift, have until December to find the right one, with the delivery date expected that month, an event that as any parent will tell you changes ones life forever.
Ms. Rice goes into parenthood with a bit of an advantage over most of us however, having spent the last six years as a member of the BC Legislature, she will be well prepared for the terrible twos and any other challenging child rearing moments that may come the couples way.
Perhaps, from her time studying some of the antics of the larger kids sitting in the Legislature during that period, she has seen pretty well everything a toddler may offer up in the way of parental tests.
Before those upcoming moments though will come the newborn years and some changes to lifestyle and sleep patterns ahead; along with a fair bit of work with the diaper genie (best invention ever) and other modern baby conveniences ...
From the brief mention through their social media streams, you can sense how the couple who were married on North beach on Haida Gwaii four years ago seem quite excited about the journey ahead and will travel towards the arrival date in December with many best wishes from across the riding and far beyond.
