Our younger readers may wish to cover their eyes, or just click on to the next story, for we interrupt your summer of fun, with an update on plans for the start of the 2019-20 School year.
Schools in Prince Rupert will open for the fall start on Tuesday September 3rd with all elementary schools from Grade 1 to 5 to be open from 10 AM to Noon that day, for parents of kindergarten students their neighbourhood school will be in touch with further details on their start dates and times.
For Prince Rupert Middle School students the first day of school will come with two start times:
Students enrolled in Grades 7 and 8 will be in attendance from 10:30 to Noon, while Grade Six students have the afternoon shift of 1 to 3 PM
Charles Hays Secondary students have a first day back schedule as follows:
Grade 10,11 and 12 students from 10:45 to Noon, while Grade Nine students take in their first day of high school from 1 to 2:45 PM.
Students of CHSS are reminded that they must attend the first day to ensure their spot in their classes.
All Grades for students of Pacific Coast School return to the Ocean Centre classroom at 10 AM
Regular Class schedules for Prince Rupert schools begin on Wednesday, September 4th.
Hartley Bay students return one week earlier than their Prince Rupert counterparts, with the school opening August 27th and regular classes commencing on August 28th.
New students to the District, or those who have moved from neighbourhood to neighbourhood can register for school on the following schedule.
Port Edward School will be open for Registration from 9 to 11:30 AM on Tuesday, August 29th only.
Al other elementary schools in the District will be open from August 26 to August 30 from 9AM to Noon each day.
For Charles Hays Secondary, Prince Rupert Middle and Pacific Coast School, the offices will be open from 9AM to 3PM from August 26 to August 30th.

Annunciation School also provides education for students from Kindergarten to Grade 8 in Prince Rupert, they have not outlined their fall opening plans, but generally follow the same time lines as the public system.
