There was an early morning rumble along the Pacific fault lines off the coast of Vancouver Island this morning, with
4.2 quake recorded 183 kilometres West of Port Hardy at 5:43 AM placing it towards the centre of Queen Charlotte Sound between Vancouver Island and Haida Gwaii.
The quake which was listed at 10 kilometres in depth and did not generate any tsunami warnings.
The area in which it struck has been host for a number of similar sized seismic movements in recent months.
