DFO announces Recreational Chinook Closure for Skeena Watershed until mid July
The recreational salmon fishery has one of its first closure notices for the 2020 season, with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans announcing the Closure of the Chinook salmon recreational fishery for the Skeena Watershed effective at midnight tonight and continuing through until just before midnight on July 14th.
The planned reopening for recreational fishing for Skeena Chinook is set for July 15th.
Also announced as remaining Closed is the Recreational Fishery for Chum Salmon on the entire Skeena River Watershed, including its tributaries and lakes.
Recreational fishers are advised to consult with the online BC Sport Fishing guide, with attention to Freshwater 6 for a complete listing of the recreational salmon regulations for all lakes and rivers of Region 6.
