British Columbia recorded a
4.7 earthquake Saturday evening, the temblor centred off the west coast of Vancouver Island
127 km to the south of Port Hardy and North of Tofino.
It struck at
9:46 PM and had a depth of 10 kilometres but does not appear to have been noticed in much of the populated areas of the Island.
The quake was listed in a seismically active area of the West Coast of the Island, though it was the largest of recent quakes this year so far.
No Tsunami warning was generated by the event.
