Last week was excavation work at Coast Mountain College in Prince Rupert |
Those travelling through the Prince Rupert campus area can't miss it, the big pile of dirt and rock, the noise and the closed access to the turn around in front of the Fifth Street campus calling attention to some significant excavation work.
For those that may be wondering what's up with the 'Big Dig' it's not a field school for an anthropology class, but rather some attention towards the utility service infrastructure for the college itself.
The North Coast Review contacted Sarah Zimmerman, the Executive Director of Communications for Coast Mountain College who advises that the work involves the replacement of a sewer pipe in the building which is quite a big job for those working on the project.
Ongoing infrastructure work has meant a road closure in the turn around in front of Coast Mountain College |
As a result of the work, access to the college is now limited to the parking lot entrance to the west off of Sixth Street, the College offered up no timeline as to how long the infrastructure remediation work will take.
