Slight Temblor recorded along West Coast of Vancouver Island near Ucluelet

The Pacific fault lines gave a shimmy in the early morning hours today, with a 3.3 magnitude earthquake recorded just west of Ucluelet on the West Coast of Vancouver Island.

The event was recorded at 12:34 AM today, with a depth listed of 37.2 kilometres, there was no damage associated with the temblor and no tsunami notices were generated by the event.

Of note from the USGS map is that the area of this mornings seismic bump is not normally an active area of the fault line that stretches from California to Alaska.

Earlier this week a moderate 5.9 earthquake was recored in Central Alaska, that event was noted across wide section of the state, though no tsunami warnings were issued in that instance as well.
