Applicants interested in applying for grant funding from the Prince Rupert Regional Community Foundation have seven days left to put their submissions forward, with the final day for applications set for May 26th at 8 PM.
Successful applicants can receive funding once they have met one of the nine areas of note related to criteria for the program.
Organizations applying for a grant will need to detail in their application as to how they support one or more of the following eligible areas:
Educational needs
Social welfare and health issues
Programs for aged
Programs for the disabled
Preservation and protection of environment
Advancement of the arts
Prevention of delinquency
Prevention of substance abuse
Relief of poverty
The Foundation will only consider grant applications to fund the acquisition or repair of fixed or tangible assets and will not consider requests to fund ongoing programs or general operating expenses.

The Prince Rupert Regional Community Foundation has been awarding grant money for eighteen years, bringing in the Macro Properties grant program under their umbrella in recent years.

The Listings for 2019 make for the latest update on funding with the Community Foundation having awarded close to 26 thousand dollars to five different community organizations that year, the programs to gain recognition and funding included:
Prince Rupert Ground Search & Rescue -- $12,500
Prince Rupert Hospice Society -- $5,000
School District 52 -- $3,800
Prince Rupert Special Events -- $3,486
Dodge Cove Recreational Society -- $950
Macro Properties Grants in 2019 were awarded to the following:
Kaien Trails Society -- $5,000
Gitmaxmak'ay Nisga'a Society -- $4,400
Prince Rupert Skating Club -- $1,000
