Riders in the 2021 Tour de North for Cops for Cancer began their journey in Prince George six days and as the final day of their journey arrives, it's a wet weather gear kind of wrap up to the tour as participants make the final dash into Prince Rupert late this afternoon.

That final stretch starting at the Chain up area near Rainbow Summit at 315 this afternoon, with the Port Edward turnoff the final waypoint on the route before the final push onto the streets of Prince Rupert.

The nineteen riders have stopped in many communities along the Highway 16 corridor as their fundraising continues on well beyond their target for raising money for the Canadian Cancer Society.

With the Riders going past 132% of their goal of 100,000 dollars with more support coming as they push the pedals for the ride in from the Port Edward bypass road.

A seems fitting for an event wrapping up in Prince Rupert, two riders from this city, Prince Rupert Fire/Rescue member Jordan Venditelli and BC Ambulance paramedic Jessica Friesen currently sit atop the list of fundraisers from this years tour.

You can review the full list of participants in this years event here.

More notes on the final day of the tour can be found from the Tour de North Facebook page.

Our archive of notes from the tour through the last week is available here.
