A portion of the work that is planned will be taking place below the bluffs that make for the residential area along Graham Avenue on the city's west side.

The Documentation provided to Transport Canada through its Navigation Protection Program Registry, outlines the scope of the work that will require some infill work along the shoreline as part of the expansion.

The main line service area includes those lands that make for the Prince Rupert yard near Rotary Waterfront park to the DP World Terminal.
In the documentation, the work is noted as taking place on Federal lands.

Should it move forward, the anticipated start for the rail expansion is noted as October 1st 2022, with the completion date set for March 1st.
