Prince Rupert's popular Salmon Festival is just on the other side of this Long Weekend with the Prince Rupert/Port Edward Gitmaxmak'ay Nisga'a Dancers and Society led event set for Friday May 26 and Saturday May 27 at Russell Gamble Gymnasium at the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre.
The welcome to the arrival of the Salmon makes for an opportunity to share in the culture of the Nisga'a Nation through singing and dancing, with a number of area groups sharing the weekend with the Nisga'a.
The two days of the Salmon Festival also featuring a Vendors area to explore some of the creations from those who have booked their space in the Gymnasium.
Those attending the Salmon Festival can also pick up a ticked for the Draw for the 9th Annual Salmon Festival Quilt Raffle.
The 2023 Salmon Fest Quilt, is a starburst design, with 4 Salmon print squares! The creation of Audrey MacDonald who did the sewing for the quilt this year! Quilted in Ocean wave design by Rain Forest Fabrics.
