First Avenue East from Mariner's Park through to Third Avenue East is the scene of some extensive preparation work this week.
That as crews make ready for a paving plan that will bring an end to the long running repairs to water and road infrastructure that began last December.
The work which was part of the Local State of Emergency had seen the road closed for a good portion of 2023, a period which saw extensive work underway towards other elements beyond just the water issues.
The roadway only recently reopened to traffic on a gravel base as the bulk of the major infrastructure work was completed.
The City outlined the paving plan this morning as part of a social media message.
As part of the advisory, the city observed of the disruption to traffic today, with the start of the paving program anticipate to start on Monday. The City notes that they will have more information as it becomes available.

The First Avenue area was just one of a number of areas that saw extensive work, one area, Crestview remains closed at Applewaite as city crews continue their work on the failed water infrastructure at that location.

They really needed to close the whole road yesterday. The huge cliff I had to drive down and up to go through the unpaved part could have damaged my vehicle. It must have been at least 4-5 inches
