The passing of a much loved staff member at the Prince Rupert has been commemorated with an in Library display area that speaks to many of the passions of Lisa "Starr" Doolan Latimer.
The Library noted of her passing back in January of 2022 with a tribute to Ms Latimer at that time, noting of her sixteen years at the House of Reading and how her passing had been mourned by staff and patrons.
As a tribute to her work and passions, the Library has created the Lisa Doolan Latimer Truth and Reconciliation Collection.
The works celebrate and explore her advocacy for increased Indigenous representation at the Library and many initiatives such as the principles of Truth and Reconciliation and Every Child Matters.
The Reconciliation Collection has been well received as the comments to the Prince Rupert Library Social media stream shows.
The Prince Rupert Library is located at the corner of McBride and Sixth Avenue West.
