Prince Rupert members of Northern Savings were just some of many that have embraced the paperless initiative |
The plan which was announced this spring had Northern Savings donating 5 dollars to a local organization for every member who signed up for electronic statements from April 1 to May 15.
Earlier this month, Northern Savings released the results of that paperless push, delivering the welcome news for the BC SPCA Haida Gwaii Branch, Prince Rupert Backcountry Society, Laskeek Bay Conservation Society and Skeena Wild Conservation Trust.
Interim CEO Sharon Stromdahl highlighted the commitment to sustainability that Northern Savings was engaged in with the paperless initiative one that can involved their membership as well:
“Environmental sustainability is recognized in our governing policies and we are proud to be taking proactive steps in reducing our environmental footprint,” ... Consumers (members) have shifted towards a paperless statement environment as access to technology has vastly increased. With electronic statements, we can provide statements in a safe, convenient, and environmentally friendly way.”
With the paperless push ending on May 15th, 480 Northern Savings members had made the commitment to electronic delivery for their banking information.
Members who may be interested in switching to electronic statements can contact their local branch, Northern Savings serves Haida Gwaii, Prince Rupert and Terrace.
