North Coast Transition Society seeks some helpful hands for Sunday Shelter dinners
Yesterday, Councillor Blair Mirau shared word with the community that the use of the Extreme Weather Shelter in Prince Rupert will be extended through the fall and into the North Coast winter.
The Third Avenue shelter now set to remain in operation until the completion of the Park Avenue Modular Residence sometime in early 2019 and with that extension, the ongoing program of Sunday meals at the Third Avenue shelter continues on, as does the call for assistance from the public.
As part of the Shelter program in the community, Shelter organizers host a Sunday Hot Meal program seeking the assistance of the community in providing for a break from the usual soup and bread options.
Towards the rest of the summer and into the fall, Transition Prince Rupert has posted a notice seeking some help with the program on their Facebook page along with the schedule for the next eight weeks.
Should you be able to lend a hand, give them the Shelter a call at 250-622-2472, the shelter is in operation from 8 PM to 8 AM.
