Final week for advance pledges for Terry Fox Run set for September 15th
The last few days for local advance run fundraising are underway towards the annual Terry Fox Run which takes place next Sunday in Prince Rupert and in communities across Canada.
We previewed some of the notes on the Prince Rupert Run in August, with Northern Savings Credit Union the local host for the annual event, with the Third Avenue Head Office making for the start and finish line for next Sunday's run.
Prince Rupert's Jim Terrion, the legendary fundraiser for the Terry Fox program has been spotted around town over the last few days, taking time off from his work in Prince George to return home to collect sponsors and add to his amazing results in support of the Run.
Wisely, knowing where the money is in Prince Rupert, he has been making the rounds of local politicians as he travelled across the city seeking sponsors.
Through his efforts, Mr. Terrion has raised close to 770,000 dollars (and counting) over the span of the last 27 years, gaining him recognition across British Columbia and Canada for that matter.
In 2014, Northern Health, which is also his employer in Prince George, posted a video presentation that highlighted his fundraising efforts and his ambitions to carry on into the future.
