With just over one month to go until the annual Terry Fox Run in communities across Canada, the local organizers in Prince Rupert are once again putting the finishing touches on the local project.

As they have through the decades, Northern Savings Credit Union will be hosting the Prince Rupert event, making for the start and finish line for the  3 kilometre or 7.2 kilometre route that brings out a large number of North Coast residents in fair or foul weather each year.

Last year, the fundraising efforts in Prince Rupert raised over $27,000 dollars towards the fight against cancer.

This years event takes place on Sunday, February 15th from Noon to 3 PM with participants encouraged to walk, run or bike their choice of the two routes.

When they make it back to the finish line they'll find some complimentary food from The Cook-A-Roo, a range of snacks and beverages, a chance to capture their successful finish at the free photo booth and a chance to play a game of Plinko!

There are also a number of door prizes for participants, including a chance to win an Apple Series 4 Watch.

More background on this years Terry Fox Run is set to be outlined through the run up to the September 15th event.

For now if you want more information on the project, or wish to get involved in sponsoring a door prize, you can contact Stefan Delloch at 250-627-3618 or by email at stefandelloch@northsave.com

You can keep up with the updates from the Facebook page created for the event.
