Ice In, Doors Open: Hockey, Skating seasons just around the corner

New ice is in at the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre and that
means that hockey and skating seasons aren't too far off!

The surest sign of the end of summer for most Canadian cities, is a fresh slab of ice in the local arena and for Prince Rupert, the sign of the fast arriving fall season came last week as the finishing touches were put on the new ice at Jim Ciccone Civic Centre.

With the fresh ice, comes the soon to arrive start of the popular Minor Hockey and Skating programs which are based out of the Civic Centre, and both are currently running their registration programs for the fall and winter season.

The first group to take to the freshest of ice were the participants in this week's Lou Lemire Hockey Skills Camp, the week long program got underway today and continues through to the 30th.

It provides Prince Rupert's hockey players at all levels an opportunity to shake off some of that summer rust and work to develop their skills for the upcoming season.

Also preparing to hit the ice for another season, will be the members of the Prince Rupert Rampage who will soon be heading towards their training camp for the 2019-20 CIHL season which is set to get underway at the end of September.
