UBCM outlines some of the key speakers, and Resolutions to consider for this years municipal government convention

Vancouver will be the September destination for Prince Rupert
City Council members and city staff, as the 2019 UBCM Convention
takes place from September 23 to 27 at the Vancouver Convention Centre

They aren't quite ready to pack their bags for convention time just yet; but come mid September the members of Prince Rupert City Council and selected senior staff members will be making the annual journey to UBCM.

With this year scheduled gathering of municipal, provincial and even a few federal politicians set for September 23 to 27 at the Vancouver Convention Centre.

Convention Organizers outlined some of the scheduled addresses set for this years event and when they settle in for their week of political chit chat in Vancouver, the over 2000 delegates from municipalities across BC will be taking in the themes from all three Provincial party leaders.

Scheduled to speak at this years event are Dr. Andrew Weaver from the Green Party and Andrew Wilkinson of the BC Liberals.

Premier John Horgan will also hold the spotlight at the end of Convention week with the Premier's address on Friday September 27th bringing the full week of politicking to an end.

This years Keynote Speaker will be a familiar face for all, with Peter Mansbridge, the former anchor of CBC's The National set to provide his view on current affairs as part of the Wednesday, September 25th session.

In addition to all the speechifying, delegates will have access to range of workshops and seminars, as well as to vote on a number of resolutions that have been submitted from across the province.
