North Coast Innovation Lab sets August 22nd for Community update

The North Coast Innovation Lab will be presenting a community update
on their range of local programs on August 22 at the Lester Centre

An opportunity to find out some of the progress for the North Coast Innovation Lab's programs around Prince Rupert is coming up later this month, with the Community action organization set to host a Community Presentation at the Lester Centre.

Among the themes that Nathan Randall and his team will explore with the community will be updates on their Employment Social Enterprise work, the progress with Restorative Ocean Farming as well as their ongoing work with Food Production and Distribution.

Joining the staff of the Innovation lab will be their partners at Hecate Strait Employment Development Society, Coastal Shellfish Corporation, as well as the Gitmakmak'ay Nisga'a Society.

One item that may be up for discussion could be the success of the Trading Cost project, which is a co-venture between ecotrust Canada's Prince Rupert office and Hecate Strait, it has offered four market opportunities for local artisans and crafters to showcase their projects for local residents and visitors to the community.

The final marketplace opportunity for the year comes up on August 17th.

The August 22nd event will take place from 7 to 9PM with snacks and refreshments available for all.

You can learn more about the upcoming event from the Facebook page that has been created for the presentation.

The North Coast Innovation Lab is hosted by Ecotruct Canada and operates out of their Capital Mall offices on Third Avenue West.

Last month ecotrust Canada released a report on its work in 2018, as well as to note some of their ambitions for 2019.
