The preparation plans have been developed and in less than an hour, the practice will begin as British Columbians take part in the 2019 edition of the Great British Columbia Shake Out, a province-wide test of what we should do in the event of an earthquake.
As the countdown towards the Shake Out gets underway on the way to the 10:17 AM alarm sounding, 9,500 residents of the North Coast have signed on to participate it today's event, with Community Groups and School Boards leading the way in planned participation today.
The North Coast totals making for more than half of the 16,921 who so far have noted their plans to participate today.
Across British Columbia, organizers are closing in on the 1 million participant mark of those who have indicated that they will participate in today's exercise.
On Wednesday, North Coast MLA Jennifer Rice, who is also the Parliamentary Secretary for Emergency Preparedness shared word of today's practice session through her Facebook page.
