Twice the CIHL fun on tap this weekend as Rampage receive Cariboo visitors for homestand
With one win under their belts for the 2019-20 campaign, the Prince Rupert Rampage return to the ice this weekend with a two game home stand to face off against the always challenging teams of the Cariboo.
The first game of the twin bill hits the ice tonight, as the Quesnel Kangaroos come to town for an 8PM puck drop against the Rhinos, with he hosts of this years Coy Cup looking to steal away a win from their North Coast hosts tonight.
The Kangaroos made note of their Western expedition through the team's Facebook page as they loaded up the bus for the journey ahead.
As is the Rampage tradition, the team is dipping into the Prospects camp for some help on Friday, with Noah Robinson getting the call up.
Saturday night, the Williams Lake Stampeders pull into the Jim, for the 7 PM puck drop which will set the stage for what should be an entertaining and physical affair if our memories of the 2018-19 season prove correct.
Williams Lake will be wrapping up their western swing in Prince Rupert, that following a match up with Terrace tonight at the Terrace Sportsplex.
They like the Kangaroos were keeping the home fans up to speed on the task ahead with a snapshot of their travels into the northwest as well.
Over in the Rampage Room, Saturday's prospect call up is Sam Nundal, who like Noah will skate with the Rampage in the pre-game warmup.
The Rampage will be looking to Jordan Weir to continue on with his hot hand around the net.
In their season opener, Weir had a natural hat trick on the night to pace the Rhinos to their 4-2 victory over Smithers.
Also having a strong opening night in the offensive zone were Thomas Robinson and last years league scoring champion Judd Repole.
On the back end, Kieran Sharpe and some strong play from the D corps all contributed to holding off the Steelhead counter attack in game number one, they will be put to the test by both Cariboo teams which feature a number of returning veterans familiar from seasons past.
Tickets for both contests will be available at the door, admission is 10 dollars for Adults, 5 dollars for Seniors and Students, while the prospects of the future under the age of six get in for free.
You can get updates on this weekends play from the Rampage Facebook page.
