Rainfall warning issued for Prince Rupert area, with large volume of precipitation anticipated until Saturday night

If it feels like Fall, we may as well have a fall weather system.
Environment Canada put Prince Rupert under a
Rainfall Alert on Thursday evening, with heavy rain
and over 100 mm of precipitation to arrive through to Saturday night

Considering how the summer has gone on the North Coast so far, it must be some kind of weather system making its way towards the Prince Rupert area, with Environment Canada issuing a Rainfall alert for the city shortly after 10 PM on Thursday evening.

On the will be a large volume of rain, starting this evening and continuing on through Sunday, with totals for the next 24 hours as follows:

Thursday night -- up to 15 mm

Friday -- up to 50 mm

Friday Night -- up to 70 mm

Saturday more periods of rain

Accompanying winds will come from the Southeast at 30 km/h at times to 50 km/h over exposed coastal sections on Friday night.

So far No Marine Weather warnings have been issued for area waters.

We will get a break from the precipitation parade on Sunday, with the promise of some Sun and warm temperatures on the day, however the summer's familiar pattern of showers and rain continues on Monday.

The full forecast can be reviewed here.
