Wind Warning issued for North Coast - Coastal sections ... Heavy Snow for North Coast Inland areas

Strong winds and nasty weather is on the way for the
North Coast coastal and inland areas

Strong outflow winds on the way from the north have the North Coast under a WIND WARNING this evening, with the wind event set to arrive overnight and through Tuesday morning easing into the afternoon as a Deep Pacific Low works its way inland.

The WIND WARNING was issued just before 9 PM on Monday, calling for winds from 80 to 100 km/h during the event.



The approaching system will also bring snow mixed with rain with the potential for up to 4 cm of snow in the Prince Rupert area.



The approaching system will make for much more snow inland, with the Terrace/Kitimat region now under a WINTER STORM WARNING, with up to 30 cm of snow anticipated.

Much the same in the way of conditions are expected deep into the Bulkley Valley area.


Tonight marks the start of what is forecast to be a week of Snow for the North Coast Inland areas

The Marine Forecast now has a GALE WARNING in effect with Winds Northeast up to 40 knots this evening backing down to 35 knots by noon Tuesday. They bring Seas building to 4 metres into Tuesday morning
