The cost of many programs and rental of facilities at recreation facilities in Prince Rupert appears likely to be set for an increase, with City Council members to receive a report and review the new Schedule of Fees for the next five years at tonights Prince Rupert City Council session.
The scope of the proposed changes will be part of the discussion to an amendment to the Recreation Fees and Charges Bylaw which is listed as part of tonight's agenda.
There are twenty pages of changes to the fees available for review, to give you an indication of the scope of the increases, using a single Drop in Admission for all facilities as our guidepost, A Youth, Senior and Post Secondary Student currently pays $3.49 per three hour usage.
By 2026 that cost would be set at $4.45, with roughly twenty cent increases for each year in between.
The topic is the final item of official business on the agenda for tonight's session, which will offer opportunity for the Council members to speak to themes of Recreation if they wish.
You can seek out the fees and charges that may be of note for you from the City Council Agenda, the subject is the last block of information from tonight's package.
