In Febraury update, Port Edward notes of January challenges, farewell to long serving employee

The February update for residents from Port Edward District Council puts a bit of focus on the recent extreme weather for the region, with the District noting of the work that their public works crew put in during January to take on the toughest challenges that Winter had to offer.

The Council also notes of the recent presentation from BC Transit that charts the path forward for the District's Transit service, highlighting how this is the lats year for the current contract for the community with the Transit operator.

As we noted yesterday, they also provided for an update on the Spring plans for North Pacific Cannery Historical site, which is looking to return to operations for the first time since the 2019 Tourism year.

Their February newsletter also makes note of the work ahead on a new housing subdivision for the community, with the first step a Request for Quotations for the development, something we explored earlier this month.

The District also alerted its residents to the current Alternative Approval Process towards Broadband development on the North Coast.

And the District paid their tribute to the work of a long serving member of the Public Works Staff, Scott  Duffus who has retired after fifteen years of service with the District.
