The Prince Rupert RCMP is calling on the public for assistance in identifying two males that are alleged to have been involved in a January assault.
In an information release from the Prince Rupert Detachment, Mounties outlined the nature of the incident that took place in the centre of the city's downtown core, as well as their interest in the two males they describe as suspects.
On January 13, 2022 at approximately 10:00 pm, the Prince Rupert RCMP attended 6th St between 1st and 2nd Ave W for a report of a random assault on a man.
The victim told police that as he was walking in the Prince Rupert Square Mall parking lot, 2 unknown men approached him and asked him to stop.
The victim ignored them and kept walking towards the Prestige Hotel when one of the men punched him, causing him to fall on the concrete sidewalk and broke his wrist.
The man then left running and despite police patrolling the area, he was not located.

The male suspect of most interest is described as follows:
Caucasian man; approximately 20-years-old who features a visible acne on his face;
At the time of the incident he was wearing black and white shoes.
