The request was part of the Consent Agenda on the evening, the item one of a number to be approved without discussion as part of the Council Session.
The request from the Golf Course was included in the Agenda for the night, with a correspondence from Iain Cullen outlining the path ahead for the Club on their funding quest.
In it the Club notes the following:
Project activities include the reconstruction of a green, rebuilding the cart paths, renovation of the forward tee boxes and ten sand traps.
The PRGC has received a PRPA Community Investment Fund grant for $459 750 and requires leveraged funding to release the PRPA contribution.
The PRGC is committing the other funds with the understanding that the Club's contribution may be reduced by securing other funding.
The PRGC is actively seeking more funding for this project and to expand the Revitalization Project to include other enhancements.
Also included in the letter were some notes on the arrangement with the city towards the course and the importance of their revitalization plan.
The letter of support is directed towards the work of the Prince Rupert Golf Clubs which is seeking additional funding through the Northern Development Initiative Trust.
More notes on the latest items of interest from the Golf Club can be reviewed through their Social Media Stream.
