North Coast travellers can help Prince Rupert's Station 64 and other member stations of the Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue organization by directing some of their Aeroplan miles towards the marine rescue service which has now been registered as a charity with the aeroplan program.
Station 64 outlined the latest approach to local fundraising through an item on their Facebook page late last week, outlining that any miles that are donated can be turned into money to put towards training for crew members of the service and other aspects of the work that they provide.
So far, just a shade over 13,000 air miles have been donated towards the Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue goal, introduced in late July the fundraising campaign continues for a full year.
