Keep your shovel handy today .. Snow is forecast to be on the way

A weather system heading to the North Coast will
bring snow starting later today and carrying through until Friday

Update: Environment Canada issued a SNOWFALL WARNING for the North Coast at 3 PM today.

The Arctic blast would appear to be in the rear view mirror for now, but as we transition to warmer temperatures over the next few days  we will be reaching for our snow shovels and car brushes.

And depending on how the weather patterns arrive, the morning forecast is offering up the prospect of up to 24 centimetres of snow over the next 48 hours, with Environment Canada calling for rain or snow, which if arriving as the fluffier version of precipitation will total 4 cm today, 10 cm tonight and 10 more cm into Friday.

Winds will pick up along with the arrival of the snow or rain, with gusts up to 70 km/h from the Northeast into Friday.

Saturday may see some flurries before the colder temperatures return next week with a significant drop to come starting Monday when overnight lows will drop down to -11.
