If you've stumbled across some past borrowings from the Prince Rupert Library and they're just a little bit overdue (or maybe longer) you can take advantage of the Library's Fine Reduction Days for the Food Bank to get back in the good books with the Sixth Avenue book vault.
The popular program started December 1st and will continue through until December 30th and for every non-perishable canned, boxed or packaged item that you bring in, the library will take 2 dollars off your overdue library account.
If it's been a while since you checked the balance of that book tucked away on the coffee table you can call the library at 250-627-1345 or drop in to the Library to find out what your amount is.
All of the items collected during the course of Food For Fines month will be turned over to the local food bank.
While you're there taking care of any outstanding commitments to the Library you can also knock off a few items from your Christmas Gift Giving list, with the Library featuring a range of items from book bags, to prints, T shirts and a couple of Prince Rupert must haves ... Sou'Wester Rain Hats and Umbrellas all available for purchase.
With the holiday season getting into full roll out now the Library is about to head into their Holiday
Closure period with the Library closed December 24,25 and 26.
They reopen from the 27th to 30th and Close again on December 31st and January 1st.
The Library resumes is regular hours on January 2nd.
Library staff remind their customers that donations are appreciated but only during the Library's hours operations and through the front desk, they would like to see customers use the Outdoor Blue Book Return Bin only for library items that have been borrowed and are being returned.
