It's almost show time in Langley, as the Charles Hays Rainmakers prepare for their first match up at this years Provincials tournament, marking yet another return to the finale to the BC High School basketball season.
With an upper tier seeding in the AA Basketball Provincials, the Charles Hays Rainmakers are in the favourites grouping, leading one of the four brackets that take to the court today at the Langley Events Centre.
Having compiled an 18 and 2 record heading into the tournament, as well showcasing their skills in a number of games in Lower Mainland or Vancouver Island tournaments this past winter, the Senior Boys won't be flying under the radar and as the run up to tournament time has passed by.
As tournament time comes around the team from northern BC has become very much part of the conversation for lower mainland basketball observers.
As we took note of on Monday, the Rainmakers got a fair bit of attention as part of the pre tournament draw streamcast, as Howard Tsumura and Chris Kennedy observed as to some of the Charles Hays trips to the south and the success that they found on those competitions against top tier southern teams.
The tournament is available for viewing through a stream cast from the Langley Events Centre, a Pay Per View initiative that has two price packages.
Pricing for the event features a game by game rate of $8.50, or a tournament pass for 24 dollars.

The road to Saturday's finale starts this afternoon at 5:15 PM, when the Rainmakers take on the RC Palmer Griffins.
The Richmond school gained entry to the Big Show in Langley by way of a third place finish in the Lower Mainland AA Championships, topping the St. Pat's Celtics 78-69, the very same team that had had beaten them a year ago in Provincials qualification play.
