As college year nears end, NWCC seeks nominations for awards and plans convocation ceremonies

The 2018 Convocation celebrations are set for June at
Northwest Community College 

The 2017-18 program year at Northwest Community College  is winding down this month for the majority of the students and as the final exams and papers are delivered, the college is making its plans to celebrate another year of post secondary education across the region.

As the graduates prepare to receive their certificates and diplomas, the College will also be saluting the work of deserving recipients in three categories at the June Convocation Ceremonies.

In the lead up to the June event, NWCC is accepting nominations in the following categories:

Community Service Award

Honouring a person that has supported of promoted NWCC and/or Northwest BC Communities in a significant way. This award nominee should be from one of the thirty four communities that NWCC serves and should not be an employee of the college.

Distinguished Alumni Award

Honouring a graduate of NWCC who has made an outstanding contribution to the social, cultural or economic well being of NWCC, NWCC students or the communities of northwest British Columbia.

Employee Recognition Award

Honouring a member of the NWCC staff or faculty that has gone above and beyond the expectations of their job description to support a student-centred environment and/or promote NWCC in a positive way. This person will have demonstrated NWCC's values; transformative, adventurous and integrity.

The deadline for nominations is April 30th.



The final days for post secondary education for many in the Northwest arrives in June with the 2018 convocation ceremony season with celebrations planned for both the Prince Rupert and Smithers campus locations, which hold their ceremonies prior to the larger year end celebration in Terrace.
