The topic of electoral reform is one that has been at the top of NDP MP Nathan Cullen's To Do list for years, yet remains elusive still, this time stalling in Parliament as the summer recess arrived.
The Northwest MP was quick to share his thoughts on the lack of progress at the Federal level earlier this month as Parliamentarians set off on their summer vacations, taking to his Facebook feed to register his displeasure and revisit some history of the quest for change at the Federal level all at the same time.
Mr. Cullen, has however, found something to tide him over until the return of Parliament, with the launch of the BC referendum campaign, something he seems to be throwing himself into with a bit of a flourish.
Noting how the federal plan "went down in Flames" after what he calls a betrayal of a promise to Canadians from Prime Minister Trudeau, Cullen calls the summer long campaign leading to the fall vote a historical moment for BC and one where Premier Horgan is leading a government that wants to see the change in electoral process take place.
Among his themes on the BC vote, the Skeena-Bulkley Valley MP highlights the call for good policy on climate, equity and social justice that he believes the plan to change how we vote will bring to the province.
