Police activity leaves two blocks of 5th West at McBride closed

The Prince Rupert RCMP have not released any details as of yet related to an ongoing situation not far from detachment, with traffic being re-routed around a two block stretch of Fifth Avenue West at McBride this morning.

Roads are block at all corners in the area of Fifth West and McBride

A number of police vehicles have been blocking access for much of the morning in the stretch of Fifth and access roads that lead to it.

The area under RCMP watch is bordered to the south by the RCMP detachment and the Coastal Training Centre.

Two Blocks of Fifth Avenue West have been secured by RCMP members
with no traffic allowed up or down the street
