Public Hearing on Zoning change request for Biggar Place properties set for tonight's Council session

Tonight is Public Hearing Night for a number of lots on Biggar Place
near the city's Five Corners area

The summer long process of seeking change to some zoning on a portion of property along Biggar Place in the Five Corners area of the city is up for its Public Hearing tonight at Prince Rupert City Hall.

The evening makes for the final opportunity for the public to express any comments, concerns or observations to City Council members related to the application from Marogna Enterprises.

The property owner is looking to shift what are currently empty lots from their previous status of residential and adding them to the other adjoining parcels of land that are listed as C3 Service Commercial.

As the City Planner noted at the July 24th session of Council, the application will provide the property owner with a better development site, and from a planning perspective fits into the long term development plan and can be developed as a comprehensive plan.

Tonight's Public Hearing, scheduled to start at 7PM could be somewhat brief, in the Public Notice advising of the Agenda for the Hearing, it was noted that as of August 13th of last week, there had been no inquiries made over the counter at City Hall, nor had any written communications been received related to the request for a change in the zoning.
