Resident of the city's west side will have to continue to Boil their water for a while yet, as the City of Prince Rupert extends the Boil Water Notice first put in place last Thursday evening.
The City's Communication Department provided an update today that notes that the Notice is in place due to the levels of total coliforms identified in water testing, which are believed to be linked to oversized piping and lower water flows in the affected area.
Today's advisory observes how the City has implemented an active flushing program and conducted tests on the water supply over the weekend.
The City is now awaiting until two consecutive days of clear test results are achieved, at that time the Notice will be lifted and paper notices will be delivered to household mailboxes.
The City also advises that once the Notice is lifted, it is advised for residents of Section 2 to run your water until it is cold to ensure you are receiving a fresh source.
