Council members will review five requests for letters of support, with the groups looking to tackle a number of projects should they find success from the Port Process.
The North Coast Regional District will be looking for a letter of support for their bid for funding to upgrade the roof for Recycling Facility on Kaien Road.
The Fellowship Baptist Church and Pre School is seeking a letter of support from Council towards their plans to apply for funding for a new roof for their building.
The City of Prince Rupert's Communication Director, shifts into her role as Board President of the Transition Prince Rupert Society. With Transition Prince Rupert Veronika Stewart seeking support for the next element of their mural program, that to be a mural on the exterior of the North Coast Transition Society's Administrative offices.
Friendship House is also seeking some help from City Council, with their request for a letter of support designed to assist with their application to the Port for funding for renovations to the Fraser Street building.
The work of Council however, may have already taken place, with tonight making for but the confirmation of their support.
That owing to the deadline that the Port had in place for their Community Investment Fund, which closed on Friday, February 7th.
One request this evening is looking to access funding from a different source.
That with the Gitga'at First Nation looking to access funding from the Northern Development Initiative Trust, towards renovation plans for their building on Third Avenue West.
Council will review the requests and offer up their intentions as part of the Regular session tonight.
