Blog Watching: Week ending June 21, 2020
An industrial accident in the Port Edward area captured the most attention for readers this week as we outlined some notes related to the death of a CN worker.
Provincial funding for the city's 2030 vision plan was announced this week as well, the near 100,000 dollars to be used towards implementation of the project through Community Futures and the City of Prince Rupert.
Some further notes from the Annual Public Meeting for the Port of Prince Rupert generated some interest this week, with readers curious as to the status of the VOPAK bulk fuels terminal.
With Flight Operations set to resume lat the Prince Rupert Airport later this week, the Airport Authority and local partners have launched a program to spur on some business.
And Lax Kw'alaams Fisheries looks to some familiar technology for the fishery, with plans to start construction of a Fish Trap on the Skeena near the one time community of Port Essington.
However, when it came to the most read item of the last week, an incident on the railroad near Port Edward was of the most interest readers over the last seven days.
CN Rail reports of industrial fatality on CN Property in Port Edward -- Investigations are underway to determine the circumstances of an industrial incident on CN property in Port Edward which claimed the life of a railway worker. (posted June 16, 2020)
