City of Prince Rupert Summer Camps to go ahead, registration now underway!
Keeping your youngsters occupied this summer just became a little less daunting, with the City of Prince Rupert announcing that Registration for their Summer Camp program is now open.
The week long camps for children Ages 6 to 12 will take place at the Prince Rupert Recreation Complex with the first camp set for the week of July 6-10.
Camps follow every week thereafter until the final one of the summer from August 24-28.
Key to the announcement today was the nature of the camps and how COVID has changed the traditional roll out of the annual summer program.
These camps will be operating with some modifications to ensure the safety of all participants and staff during the COVID-19 pandemic. We have been working diligently to adapt camp programming and operational plans to meet or exceed the guidelines set out by the Province of BC.
Spaces are limited. Call (250) 624-6707 for more information, or to register! Camp cost: $150/week (with the exception of August 4-7, which will be $120)
*Please note - registration deadline is one week prior to the start of each camp. Late registrations will not be accepted.*
You can get more information on the Summer Camp program from the City of Prince Rupert Recreation Department Facebook page.
As we noted last month, the City began its recruitment process for Camp leaders at the end of May, with the Rec Department looking to sift through the applications after June 10th.
So far, the City of Prince Rupert has not offered an update as to when they anticipate reopening the Civic Centre and Earl Mah Aquatic complex to the General public for use.
More notes on Civic themes can be explored from our City Council Discussion page.
