Constant training keeps equipment in working order and fire members skills sharp

Keeping the fire fighting apparatus in good operational shape makes for the theme for a recent pictorial presented by the Prince Rupert Fire/Rescue department as the city's Weekend Duty crew also got in a bit of practice in the parking lot of the Lester Centre.

The parking lot at the Arts Centre serves as a frequent location for crew training and equipment checks, at times making for an interesting show for those passing by when the exercises are underway.

The Fire Department has also made note of our shift to Spring with a timely reminder for those that may have forgotten during the time change period of a week ago that checking on the status of your smoke detectors and other safety items is something that all residents should put on the to do list.
