Gordon Reid back in port for brief break from North Coast duties

The Gordon Reid was in port on Thursday at the Seal Cove
Coast Guard base in Prince Rupert

A familiar sight was seen along the Seal Cove waterfront yesterday, with Canadian Coast Guard vessel Gordon Reid back in port, the key element of the Coast Guard presence on the North Coast back in port for some supplies and a bit of rest before its next journey to sea.

In June, we noted of the work that the crew and officers of the ship put in as part of Search and Rescue training operation off of Haida Gwaii, one of a number of similar exercises that the Coast Guard make use of to keep skills sharp for when the call fore assistance comes in.

One such call came in over Thanksgiving of 2020 when the Gordon Reid was on station to lend assistance to a vessel in distress.
