Canadian Coast Guard keep skills sharp with North Coast/Haida Gwaii training exercise

The Canadian Coast Guard is sharing some snapshots of a recent exercise in area waters in recent days, using their Social media feed to taken note of the work of the CCGS Gordon Reid as part of a Search and Rescue Exercise in Queen Charlotte Strait.

The exercise also involved the use of assets from the Comox 442 Rescue Squadron on Vancouver Island, which contributed a Cormorant and Buffalo aircraft as part of the training session.

The social media notes make for what is a growing information sharing program by the Coast Guard to showcase the work of the skilled professionals that keep us safe.

Among the options that are available is a You Tube page which hosts a range of video presentations on many elements of the Coast Guard service, some of which offer a chance for you to put your rusty French comprehension skills to the test.

You can explore the full list of videos available for review here.

More notes on the Coast Guard on the West Coast can be found from their Twitter feed and Facebook page.
