As part of an investigation into possession of stolen property, a large number of items have been seized by members of the Prince Rupert detachment of the RCMP and they are now looking to return the recovered items to their owners.
In an information statement released Friday evening, the RCMP outlined the background of the arrest of a 36 year old Prince Rupert resident last weekend for possession of stolen property.
Constable Van Wynggaardt of the Prince Rupert detachment notes that:
"A large number of items have been seized and not yet returned to their respective owners and we are hoping to do that"
In their statement Mounties note:
"We are asking the public who reside in the 100-700 block of 4th and 5th Ave E to check their sheds, outbuildings and other areas on their property where you may store your belongings and to notify the Prince Rupert RCMP if you are missing anything. "As well, the local detachment is asking the public to notify the Prince Rupert RCMP if you observed any suspicious activity over the past weekend, or to contact Crime Stoppers.
