If part of your Christmas Holiday tradition includes a trek into the Northwest backcountry, you may want to give a second thought to your plans at least until Monday, with Avalanche Canada noting of Extreme risk this weekend owing to the changing nature of the weather.
The Avalanche Canada Website notes of a High Risk for Alpine and Treeline areas, with considerable risk for the Below Treeline areas, the Advisory is in place from today through Monday.
