Speed a concern for Cannery Road in Port Edward following weekend incident

A series accident along Skeena Drive south of Port Edward has local
businesses there reminding travellers of the challenges of the drive

An incident which reportedly has left three young adults with non serious injuries, a car flipped numerous times and tickets issued, has become a topic of note for those who live and work along Port Edward's Cannery Road known as Skeena Drive.

Two businesses along the scenic but at times bumpy and windy road have issued cautionary tales for parents of young people who take to the road without respect to its challenges.

On Monday, both Cassiar Cannery and North Pacific Cannery Historical Site outlined the scope of the weekend incident and the dangers that the road provides for those who take to it too fast.

So far there have been no official statements issued by the District of Port Edward, Port Edward Volunteer Fire Department or Prince Rupert RCMP related to the weekend incident.
